Danushka Samarasinghe joined CAL as the Managing Director – CAL Investments Limited in Bangladesh. He has over 21 years of experience in capital markets and investment advisory, with exposure to both listed and private equity deals. Prior to joining CAL he was a Senior Consultant in Australia for GenXbtSolutions and CreditSource Pty Ltd. Prior to which he was a Director at Ceylon Asset Management Ltd., Chief Executive Officer at Nation Lanka Equities (Pvt) Ltd., Chief Operating Officer at Softlogic Stockbrokers Pvt Ltd, Head of Research at Asia Capital Securities and more. Danushka completed BSc. in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK, and MSc. in Int. Mkt. & Mgt. from Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University, Scotland. He has completed CIMA, ACCA, CPA and also served as the ACCA country President for Sri Lanka and Economic Committee Member for Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

Nashir brings over 23 years of experience across diverse sectors, including capital markets, telecom, and MNCs. He has held prominent positions such as Managing Director & CEO of SBAC Bank Investment Ltd. and Chief Marketing Officer of LankaBangla Securities Ltd. Nashir collaborates with regulatory bodies to drive industry development strategies. He holds a Master’s Degrees in Commerce from Chittagong Commerce College, an MBA in Accounting & Information Systems from the University of Dhaka, and Post Graduate Diplomas in Industrial Management from BIM and Supply Chain Management from WTO and UNCTAD, Geneva, Switzerland.

Arafat is the Head of Investment Banking of CAL Bangladesh. He has over 10 years of experience in capital market of Bangladesh. He has been with CAL since December 2021. Prior to that, he served in a number of positions at the LankaBangla Investments Ltd., including as the Head of Investment Banking. He started at LBIL in Research and worked on Primary Market Services as well. Arafat introduced Transaction Advisory Services in Bangladesh and executed the Largest On Market Transaction in Bangladesh. Over his career he has advised on multiple Overseas Equity Investments FDI Repatriations, Financing Arrangements M&A transactions and Transaction Advisory assignments with a combined value exceeding BDT100bn, He graduated with a BSc. in EEE from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) & MBA in Finance from Institute of Business Administration University of Dhaka

Omar presently holds the role of Head of Wealth Management at CAL Investments Limited and also leads the research team. Omar brings to the table a wealth of experience and expertise spanning over 12 years in the realm of investment research within the Bangladesh capital market. He joined CAL Bangladesh as Head of Research in November 2021 and played an instrumental role in integrating macro models into CAL Bangladesh’s research methodology to align with the top-down macro approach. In a testament to his leadership abilities and assumed the role of Head of Investment Strategy at CAL Investments Limited, Bangladesh, in 2023 and took on the mantle of portfolio manager for the wealth management wing. He is a CFA charter holder and holds a BBA & MBA in Finance from North South University.

Omer Farooque, ACMA, is a seasoned Financial Controller at CAL Bangladesh, bringing over 14 years of expertise in finance and operations. As an Associate Cost & Management Accountant, he excels in optimizing business operations, driving growth, and increasing efficiency. Omer is dedicated to leveraging his analytical skills to contribute to strategic decision-making and enhance organizational value.
